A cooperative approach
Enercoop is a French 100% renewable energy supplier. Run as a cooperative, its energy model approach is twofold:
- a short cycle project aiming to cover 100% of their customer consumption by purchasing renewable energy through direct contracts with French producers;
- engagement of the local public through a network of cooperatives closely involved with territorial energy-related challenges.
In line with its ambitious development program that will see an increase in customers from 40,000 in 2016 to 150,000 in 2020, and for more efficient management of the Energy sector’s evolving regulations, Enercoop is launching the development of its IT billing system to make it reliable, automated and upgradeable.
An ambitious project
- A complex migration project from 3 former tools to a single billing ERP;
- Initial black box tools that are difficult to understand;
- The impact on all of the enterprise’s core businesses: Customer Service, Accounting, Debt Collection, Billing, Sales and Communications;
- Development of over a hundred functionalities;
- The use of an Open Source solution;
- Particular focus on customer communications following the total revamp of the customer’s bill and optimization of communications.

Answers and key factors for success
Wavestone participated in the project from start to end, from managing its scope, to the project itself and all its stakeholders, the technical migration of tools and change management.
