Wavestone has just carried out a study, which reviews 25 automatic metro lines on the 40 lines listed in the world, and highlights the French know-how in this field. A performance to be underlined in the face of the growing demands on quality of service in the urban transport sector.
The Transportation & travel team carried out a benchmark of the overall performance of the driverless metro lines, which allows analysis of the strategic stakes as well as the best performers.
The driverless metro market, whose number of kilometers of installed lines will be multiplied by 5 between 2010 and 2020, is sometimes used in the best way by cities as in a total contradictory way for the global transport policy. Existing driverless metro networks may also be particularly aligned with their promise of use as a catastrophic experience for travelers.
